Wedding Chat: Magazines & Make-up Testing

Recently, Aled and I got engaged in Venice. I’m one of those people who loves to plan, so as soon as we got back to England I went out and bought a TONNE of wedding magazines. And yes, I started a mood board folder. And yes, my single private Pinterest board multiplied into categorised online mood folders. (To be fair, my fiancé also started perusing Pinterest. At first I thought it was cute. But then he asked if we could get our groomsmen personalised knives….)

You might think that by now, three months later, I would have stopped buying all of these magazines. But you would be wrong. I have however, developed a favourite. Perfect Wedding is my go-to magazine. They place a lot of focus on real weddings, and as a real bride-to-be, I find that so useful. They often have a second feature magazine, which focusses on a single aspect of the wedding like hairstyles or honeymoon locations. In the main mag, they have lots of cute little features … like the ‘just engaged’ column.

OH, WAIT. LOOK! WHO’S THAT IN THE BOTTOM CORNER OF ISSUE NUMBER 129!??

…. IT’S-A-ME!

The magazine recently contacted me asking if I would like to be part of their panel of beauty testers. Just like the last proposal, I said YES! A few days later, I was sent a lovely little package containing all of these goodies.

It’s been so much fun testing out all of the products. Some of them I have LOVED, and will definitely keep using. Others I’m not so fond of. I’m not going to give away which one was my favourite – you’ll have to look in the magazine when it’s out!

I’m so grateful to have had the chance to be part of a magazine that I genuinely love. If any other brides-to-be have a favourite wedding planning resource, please let me know in the comments below!
