I haven’t posted on here for a whiiiiiiiile. I blame it on wedding planning & honeymoon dreaming. Honestly, every weekend these pass few months has been meeting with suppliers / designing table signs / and writing endless to-do lists! But now that the weather is (maybe, for now) looking a little nicer, we’re trying to get out and about more.
Last weekend I had a slight grandma moment, and signed Aled and I up to become members of the National Trust . The national trust are a charity that maintain lots of different sites across the U.K. My sister and brother-in-law have been members for years, and when we mentioned we were thinking of popping to a local national trust property, Wimpole Estate , they gave us their membership cards so we could use them for entry (if you aren’t a member its unreasonably expensive to get in!). Now. Anyone who knows me well, knows that I CANNOT LIE. Even in situations where arguably it would be better to lie, I just cant do it. Aled is also a terrible liar. So we spent the entire drive to Wimpole freaking out about the prospect of lying, and talking about how it was even worse because they’re a charity. So when we got to the front of the queue, instead of showing the passes, we signed up for our own. It costs £9 a month for unlimited access to all of the national trust sites in the country.
When you sign up for a pass, you’re given a little brochure listing all the National Trust properties in the UK, and were already planning our next visits! We popped back to Wimpole today, and the little signs of spring made me so happy! It was almost not freezing, and snowdrops and daffodils were poking their heads out of the ground. So we grabbed a hot chocolate (is there anything more satisfying than a hot chocolate on a cold day?!), and went for a lovely Sunday stroll!
Are any of you guys members of the National Trust? We’re trying to plan some days out, so let me know your favourite places 🙂
